Lake Lenexa Black Hoof Park

Lake Lenexa and Black Hoof Park are the cornerstone of Lenexa’s cutting edge stormwater management program and include over 250 acres of parks, trails, stormwater wetlands, and a 35-acre lake. The dam and spillway for the lake are works of art that together with the landscaping, tell the story of Lenexa’s environmental mission. Vireo completed the park’s master plan, public involvement, construction documents, and construction administration. Vireo also designed the interpretive signage throughout the park and around the lake. Vireo also assisted with developing a water quality monitoring program and siting stormwater wetlands upstream of the lake.
