Fontenelle Park Green Infrastructure

Vireo helped identify and design green infrastructure enhancements as part of an overall plan to reduce combined sewer overflows in the Minne Lusa Basin. Vireo assisted a team of engineers and the City of Omaha with design of natural enhancements and visitor access for an expanded regional detention basin in the historic Fontenelle Park. Carefully planned water access, recreational lawn areas, and pathways enhance the visitor experience, while deterring nuisance geese. Park features such as walls and bridges, were restored to ensure new construction was in keeping with the historic park character.
