KC Art Institute Courtyard & Terrace
Kansas City, Missouri
The design of the Janet K. Meyer Miller Terrace includes a reinvention of the J.C. Nichols Patio and adds a 5000-square-foot brick terrace, new tables, moveable chairs and a Wallace Fountain - an elaborate, cast iron drinking fountain. All are designed to attract students and faculty alike in a variety of configurations from individual study to fundraising events.
The centerpiece of the plaza is a grouping of four Frontier Elms, a new variety of elm tree good for providing shade and keeping the plaza usable year-round.
