Norterre Healthy Living Community

Vireo was the site planner and landscape architect on this master-planned community, which is the first of its kind in the country and consists of residential units for all stages of life, including young families, active adults, and seniors. The first phase includes a healthy living center, café, households for seniors, and short-term rehabilitation suites.

A focal point is the Town Square, a multi-use, outdoor gathering space. In addition, Vireo’s insight on designing with the topography allowed the project team to avoid massive cut and fill grading and achieve extensive cost-saving measures. This resulted in a more ecologically sustainable design with substantially less infrastructure costs.
